Lot Essay

A similar jar of this size with small tab handles projecting from the upper body was included in the exhibition, Ancient Chinese Ceramics from the Neolithic Period to the Western Han, Uragami Sokyu-do Co., Ltd., Tokyo, 1991, p. 19.

The result of Oxford Authentication Ltd. thermoluminescence test no. C199w64 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
