A Daoguang-marked bowl of this pattern from the collection of Dr. S.Y. Kwan was included in the exhibition, Joined Colors, Arthur M. Sackler Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, Washington D.C., 1993, no. 58, where the authors note on p. 50 that this design was especially popular at the Lantern festival. Another bowl of this type is illustrated by Avitabile, From the Dragon's Treasure, London, 1987, pl. 38; and one in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, is illustrated by S. Valenstein, A Handbook of Chinese Ceramics, New York, 1989, pl. 281.
