The rosette-embellished panels and cluster-column legs on this table relate to the work and designs of London cabinet-makers John Mayhew and William Ince as published in their The Universal System, 1762. A reading table attributed to the firm and bearing the crest of the 3rd Earl of Kerry (d.1818), a known client, shares similar features and was sold, the property of a Gentleman, Christie's London, 9 July 1992, lot 136.
