A PAIR OF CONTINENTAL SILVER THREE-LIGHT CANDELABRA
19th century, marker's mark A&C
Each on stepped circular base with gadrooned border, the cylindrical stem with gadrooned base and rim, stiff-leaf band and anthemion and lion's head border, supporting a detachable spool-form socket with stiff-leaf border and central band of putto and arrows, with baluster- form finial surmounted by a winged sphinx, issuing three animal-head and leaf-clad branches, the circular wax pans with gadrooned border and cylindrical sockets, marked on foot with pseudo French hallmarks 1809-1838
