These dinner plates formed part of the extensive silver service commissioned for the 6th Earl of Chesterfield. An additional set of 12 dinner plates and 12 soup plates from the service is offered in the catalogue Magnificent Regency Silver and Silver-Gilt the Collection of Alan and Simone Hartman to be sold in these rooms on October 20, 1999, lot 190.
