Lot Essay

In these three images, the artist illustrates a child's uncontrollable? ties to her parents. The center panel shows the young girl with her umbilical cord still attached as her parents are intertwined as one to the right. The right panel shows her struggling with her father and the left with her mother. Bourgeois sees herself as the child and ultimately, the parent.
