A "Grandmother's Flower Garden" coverlet pieced from plain and woven silks, velvets, satins and moir, each flowerhead within a field of black silks, the outer border composed of similar elongated triangles, framed to either side with narrow bands of lozenge shaped predominantly velvet patches, edged with a yellow silk fringe, backed with lemon yellow taffeta quilted with diamonds--66in. (165cm.) square, late 19th century with silks dating from the mid 19th century; an obi of brown silk, 20th century, Japanese; and a printed cotton coverlet
