A Derby topographical tea and coffee-service
Circa 1830, some pieces with iron-red printed marks for BLOOR, DERBY and others with painted crown, crossed batons and D marks,
Painted with landscape views within oval, rectangular or circular cartouches, named in iron-red on the bases and reserved on a ground gilt with stylised foliage scrolls, comprising:
A teapot and cover with Gate of St. Paul. Rome and Byewell Castle Northumberland (crack to cover)
An oval teapot-stand with View in Holland.
A sugar-bowl and cover with View in Italy. and View in Germany. (one handle re-stuck)
A cream-jug with In Italy and Near Derby
A slop-basin with View near Derby. and View in Germany (wear to rim and interior)
Two plates with Near Derby (rim chip) and In Wales
Nine coffee-cups (one cracked)
Six teacups (three each with one hairline crack) and ten saucers (one repaired, two each with one hairline crack)
