An Italian maiolica crespina
Late 16th Century, probably Venice
Painted with Adam and Eve flanking the apple tree with a serpent with a winged angel's body about its bows in an extensive mountainous landscape within a lobed yellow line rim, on a circular spreading foot with concentric yellow and ochre lines, the reverse inscribed in blue Adam e heva (slight crack to well, minor flaking to rim, minute rim chipping to foot)
