A pair of Sevres plates from the Prince de Rohan service
1772, one with pale-puce interlaced L's enclosing date letter T and with painter's .F. for Fallot
Of conventional type, with central gilt monogram PLR within a circular oak-branch cartouche, the bleu cleste border reserved with three oval medallions of exotic birds among shrubs, divided by moulded palms and joined by gilt swags of oak leaves and acorns

The service was ordered in 1771, the year the Prince de Rohan's nomination as Ambassador Extraordinary to the court of Vienna. It was delivered in 1772 and is listed in the registry of deliveries under the 7th September and priced 20.772 livres for 368 pieces.
