A Sevres biscuit group of "Les cymbales"
Circa 1780, incised comma-shaped mark to front of base
Modelled after Taraval as a scantily-draped dancing nymph playing the cymbals before a tree-stump and resting her left foot on a Classical vase, a naked satyr blowing a conch-shell at her side, his pipes and tambourine hanging from the tree-stump and with a putto beating a tambourine, on a shaped rockwork mound base applied with a vine branch (restoration to her left arm and cymbal and putto's right drum-stick, broken through her right arm, putto's left drum-stick lacking)
