A transfer-printed commemorative railway mug
printed in blue with the locomotive 'Express' pulling carriages, the underside printed RAILWAY and H B & Co, circa 1840 (glaze chips to rim and handle) -- 10cm. high; and a William Smith and Co. pottery nursery plate printed in puce with a locomotive and children seated on a bank eating fruit, inscribed in German, the border moulded and painted with fruit, impressed mark, circa 1840 (cracked) -- 20.5cm. diam.
