Harlaxton Manor near Grantham in Lincolnshire was built in the 1830s for a rich bachelor and designed by the architect Anthony Salvin. John Piper produced a screenprint of this subject in 1977 entitled Harlaxton (Blue). (See O. Levinson, John Piper The Complete Graphic Works, London, 1987, p.93, no.270).
