A George Jones sardine box and cover
with shell finial among seaweed within rope-twist borders, the base moulded with weeds above a spreading shell-moulded foot, impressed JG mark, shape 1848, circa 1870 (chip to finial, stained crazing) -- 17.5cm. wide; a George Jones & Son box similar, impressed mark, circa 1880 (damages and repairs) -- 17.5cm. wide; and an English majolica flared cylindrical jardinire, probably Minton, moulded to simulate a fence with a band of flowering ivy, circa 1860 (cracked) -- 18cm. high
