Oblong flattened box, the burnished cover and base centred by oval reserves engraved with the foliate monograms KH and AW, within a ropework border, flanked by two oval reserves engraved with a stylized rosette on an engine-turned elliptical ground, the borders of the box engraved with a ribbon-twist band enclosing flowerheads, the sides with bright-cut borders and engraved inscription 'the gift of the Miss Dashwoods on the Death of M.rs Sophia Dashwood Jan.y 1827.', the interior fitted with a mirror, with fitted red plush lined black leather case
