Cushion-shaped box of oval section, the cover and base decorated with rectangular panels of wavy engine-turning forming a scalework pattern, within fluted bands, framed by frosted bands stamped with trailing foliage and lotus, the two oval sides stamped with foliage and mirrored anthemia on a sabl ground, slightly raised engraved thumbpiece, the inside of the lid engraved 'This Box was the property of The Emperor Napoleon Presented by CAPTAIN GEORGE RUSSELL who died 15 Sept. 1825. To MR. GEORGE HAYTER, 1824'
