A FRENCH ASSEMBLED CLARET-GROUND PART SERVICE
Circa 1840, various incised marks
Each border reserved with flower sprays enriched in gilt alternating with vertical panels enclosing scrollwork, some centers painted with flowers, fruit, seascape or portrait medallions, comprising:
two circular tureens and covers, two circular vegetable dishes and covers, two oval vegetable dishes and covers, two footed circular sauce-tureens and one cover, an oval sauce-tureen and cover on fixed stand, a double-lipped sauceboat and lozenge-shaped stand, two footed cake stands, two two-handled rectangular trays, an oval bowl, two lozenge-shaped dishes, two small scalloped bowls, six graduated platters in four sizes, eighteen dinner plates, fifteen plates, twenty-three salad plates, twelve cake plates, seven teacups, two coffee-cups and sixteen saucers in various sizes;
together with eleven Staffordshire (Ye Olde Hall Poterie) similarly decorated dinner plates (130)
