A SET OF FOUR VENETIAN LACCA POVERA AND POLYCHROME-PAINTED CAPRICCI
Late 18th Century
Each depicting a capriccio of classical ruins with shepherds, shepherdesses and courtiers in their original carved oval giltwood frames with molded edge and carved pierced shell motifs at the cardinal points, issuing acanthus leaf and husk garlands, surmounted to the top also with a blackamoor mask

One of the four panels is signed with the monogram 'G.B.' beneath a flanking cartouche and dated 1742.
