The rectangular grey marble top above a long frieze drawer flanked by a dancing putto emblematic of Love and a dancing infant emblematic of Comedy, the fallfront with an ormolu escutcheon in the form of two putti holding flaming torches to an altar, enclosing a plum-pudding mahogany fitted interior with one long drawer over an open shelf above another long drawer and a deep central drawer flanked by four short drawers, four secret drawers and a hidden well, the base section with doors enclosing three long drawers with lion's mask and ring pulls, flanked by spreading columns, on a molded ebonised plinth, with pencil inscriptions Bethiege 1812...reparre an 1856, the feet raised in height
