This is one of several drawings wich Picasso executed over a lithograph dated 6 July 1972 and entitled Family Portrait V (see Fernand Mourlot & Andr Sauret, Picasso Lithographs, Editions du Livre 1970, no. 387. The lithograph sheet size is smaller, measuring 17 1/4 x 22in.). A further drawing executed over this lithograph and dated 16.10.62 is illustrated in Christian Zervos, Pablo Picasso, vol. 23, Oeuvres de 1962 et 1963, Paris 1971, no. 3, p. 2.
