拍品專文

In the late fifties, as he received increasing numbers of large and important commissions, Calder's work outgrew his studios and his large scale works were executed either at Segre's Iron Works in Waterbury, Connecticut or at the Etablissements Bimont in Tours, near his home in France. This work formerly belonged to Mrs Chretien, the widow of the head of the Biemont works.

This work is the intermediate-sized model of the large Cactus Provisoire (9' 10'' x 16' 4 7/8'') Calder made for Dublin.
