Inlaid overall with boxwood and ebonised lines, the moulded rectangular twin flap cross banded top above a concave-fronted frieze drawer and a pair of concave-fronted doors, the front with later gilt chicken-wire grill and with conforming panels to the sides and to the back on square tapering legs, brass square caps and castors

The design for the gothic arched panels on the frieze and elongated boxwood inlaid panels on the legs, are illustrated in Sheraton's The Cabinet-Maker's and Upholsterer's Drawing-Book, 1791-94, no. 4, for a 'Gentleman's Secretary'.
