The shaped padded back and seat covered in metal and thread petit point needlework depicting a chimerical beast within a cartouche surrounded by scrolling foliage, with shaped outcurved arms and scroll terminals on turned supports, on acanthus-headed slightly cabriole legs joined by turned stretchers, on trifid feet, the front stretcher and the back feet largely replaced
The seat back 53 in. (135.5 cm.) high, overall

This chair displays the Irish trifid foot along with another Irish feature of continuing the acanthus carving down the leg from the knee.
