A HOSHIBACHI KABUTO
Edo Period (18th Century)
The sixty-two plate russet iron bowl of goshozan form with standing rivets on each plate mounted with a simple tehen kanamono and kasa jisukashi no kan, both in shakudo, the russet iron peak edged with gilt copper and a shakudo copper moon fore crest, probably associated, the five-lame black lacquered neckguard of the simple close-fitting hineno form laced with dark blue spaced lacing, fukigaeshi on either side black lacquered and edged with gilt copper and bearing a mon [badge] in the same material, probably of the Sanga family
