Autumn Mountains after Huang Gongwang (1269-1354)

Hanging scroll, ink and color on silk, 49 5/8 x 23½in. (126 x 59.7cm.)

A long inscription by the artist indicates that the painting was done on the third month of xinwei year (1631) from memory following the style of Huang Gongwang's "Autumn Mountains", which the artist had seen in a friend's collection long before. On the first month of bingzi year (1636) the artist wrote the inscription and dedicated the painting to old Master Shudu
