The star of Dracula (1930), The Murders in the Rue Morgue (1931), The White Zombie (1932), and The Black Cat (1934), never freed himself from his drug addiction. Finally, the only roles he could get were given by his friend Edward Wood (Plan 9 From Outer Space), infamous no more. "To my friend Edward / in remembrance Bela Lugosi".
