SOME OF LOEWE'S EARLIEST SURVIVING SONGS FOR BROADWAY

Frederick Loewe's personal archive relating to one of his early Broadway projects as a composer, the show entitled Saints and Sinners, set in Kilwarra, Ireland "as lovely a village as Irish eyes have ever seen. " Kilwarra's "favorite son," who went to seek his fortune in New York, is returning rich and successful to the village of his childhood. Comprising: 14 pages manuscript music, 1 cover sheet, 10 pages typescript lyrics.

Contents:
"Love's Rocky, Rocky Road," autograph manuscript melody and lyrics by Loewe, with several erasures and corrections, 1 page
"Love's Rocky, Rocky Road," manuscript piano-vocal score, in the hand of an unknown copyist, 11 pages, cover sheet with five-line note in Loewe's hand listing "Francine's Keys," and five songs
"I'm Home Again," autograph manuscript melody and lyrics by Loewe, 1 page, half page unidentified melodic sketch on back
"There's A Still, Small Voice," autograph manuscript melody and lyrics by Loewe, 1 page

[With:]
Typescript lyrics, 10 pages, for nine songs in "Saints and Sinners," including "I'm Home Again," "You Need A Mother," and "There's A Still, Small Voice," 8 pages stapled, plus two extra typescript pages (a new p.4 with a different song, "Dancin' Day," and an unnumbered page with "There's A Still, Small Voice," probably an early version, as the title of the show at top is "Sinner's Holiday").
