An oak standing cupboard, English or Flemish, early 16th century
five sided and profusely carved, with a moulded frieze and Romayne heads within Renaissance Grotesquework, above smaller panels carved with Renaissance ornament including gadrooning, cornucopiae and creatures, with two central doors and separated interiors, with a lower frieze of suspended carved panels depicting birds and fish, the front stiles finished as pendant masks, the rear framing extending downwards to a shelved plinth base, the stiles forming feet with profiled spandrels between, the lower door, the lower right-frieze panel and the plinth replaced, the upper door repaired -- 40in. (102cm.) wide, 54in. (137cm.) high, 21in. (53cm.) deep
