An oak armchair, English, mid 17th century
the panelled back within a gouge carved and arcaded frame and centred with a floral lozenge, with scrolling motif to each corner and surmounted by a later gadrooned rail with stylised foliate cresting and stiff leaf finials, with downswept arms and turned supports, solid seat and lunette carved rails, on stop-fluted tapering legs joined by square section stretchers, re-toed, some later carving.
