A GREEN-GLAZED RED POTTERY FIGURE OF A DOG
HAN DYNASTY

The sturdy dog standing foursquare with head facing forward, wearing a boss-studded collar and harness attached to a prominent loop at the back of the neck, the ears pricked and the tail tightly coiled, the details applied, impressed and incised, covered with a dark green glaze falling irregularly onto the knife-cut legs, some degrading of the glaze, crack to muzzle--12 3/8in. (31.4cm.) high
