Each finely and delicately painted in silver, different shades of gold and goauche on a dark green ground in imitation of gilt-decorated, spinach-green jade plaques, depicting various amorous and sometimes humorous scenes set in domestic interiors, including a rare, and possibly unique, depiction of snuff-taking, with a gentleman wearing a fur jacket and seated on a fur rug draped over a bed, while the lady seated behind him offers a snuff dish in which he has dipped his right forefinger
