Carved in high relief and openwork with a ram standing on rockwork beside a bat with a fruiting peach and lingzhi fungus, the jade of even celadon tone with a small russet inclusion along the edge of the base

The carved elements of this brushrest are imbued with symbolism: the ram (yang) symbolising the male, bright and positive aspects, while the bat symbolises happiness and the peaches and lingzhi longevity.
