Of oval section, finely carved in shallow relief on one side with a pair of confronted phoenix amidst blossoming peony and dense foliate scroll, the reverse plain, pierced with four pinprick holes for attachment, the amber of even, bright orange-yellow color with a fine network of crackle throughout, minor chips to edge--2 7/8in. (7.4cm.) across
