The top decorated with birds and insects in flight amidst branches of prunus and magnolia issuing from a central ornamental rock, three sides decorated with a pair of dragons contesting a flaming pearl amidst lotus scroll above a band of waves centered by a rock, within a lotus- scroll border, all in gold with black details on a red lacquer ground, the shaped lock plate and hinges incised with dragons and clouds, and with a pair of shaped, gilt-lacquered handles on the sides, some restoration, cracks and losses--22 in. high, 33 3/4in. long, 21 3/4in. deep
