A North Italian marbled silvered and parcel-gilt bureau cabinet. late 18th century
Possibly Piedmontese, the arched upper section opening with two panelled trellis glazed doors centred by a circular roundel, the interior fitted with red damask-lined shelves, and flanked by trellis-filled canted angles and centred by a cartouche-shaped mirrored foliate scrolled element, the lower section with a hinged fall-front writing surface with scrolled and foliate raised decoration concealing an interior fitted with six pigeon holes, above a drawer and a shaped foliate apron and on cabriole legs, with inscription in pencil to the back: 'VALZER' two times, and with label numbered: '86370', restorations, decoration refreshed
