AN HISPANO-MAURESQUE POTTERY COPPER LUSTRE CHARGER
VALENCIA, MID 16TH CENTURY

Luster in copper and enriched in blue, the ewer emplacement with a five-petal flower, the well with foliate sprays, the rim moulded with two large blue leaves, a copper leaf and three spiral gadroons on an arabesque ground, the underside lustred in copper with a Catherine Wheel, concentric bands and a band of stylized leaves--18½in. (47cm.) diameter; together with another similar Hispano-Moresque pottery copper lustre charger, Catalonian, late 16th century--15½in. (39cm.) diameter (2)
