The guns incorporate T. Perkes' ejector patent No. 12176 of 1887, patent use-numbers 622 and 623. They are of particularly fine quality and appear to have been relatively little used. The guns bear original 1887 proof marks and were almost certainly originally built as true hammer ejector guns
