manuscripted on two folded sheets of White Star Line stationary, each baring the company ensign and printed On board R.M.S. "TITANIC", first sheet carrying date (lacks envelope), beginning Dear Edie and signed off love from Eddie, each opened sheet -- 8 x 10in. (20.3 x 25.5cm.)

Lot Essay

writing on the the date of the maiden voyage, this is a "chatty" and amusing letter which discusses a variety of topics including the incident with the New York on departure; the amount of aristocrats and some of the famous passengers: ...our most distinguished passengers seem to be W.T. Stead, W.W. [sic] Astor, Chas. M Hays, and E.P. Colley, Oh & the Countess of something, also the eating arrangements: ...They also have a restaurant where you can pay for meals if you get bored of the ordinary grub.. together with a long dialogue on the vagaries of love.

The author was a Mr Edward Pommeroy Colley, a First Class passenger.
He did not survive.
