the conical cup constructed in horn with silver hallmarked lip and applied plaque with etch of the vessel and clear glass bottom -- 2.3/8in. (6cm.) high

Lot Essay

The hallmarks are for the Birmingham maker Spurrier & Co. dated for 1908. It is thought that whilst these shot cups were not used by Cunard for passenger use, they were sold on board as a souvenir of the vessel which was in service from 1906 to her demise at the hands of U20 in 1915.
