A late 18th/early 19th Century silver and ivory minature Nef
single mast with crows nest and gun (flag detached), a lateen-style rig and carved sail to lined deck hatch lifting to reveal small compartment, the scored ivory hull with four guns in carriages, poop deck with hinged door showing saloon with table. The hull resting in silver 'cradle' stand with rams head and acanthyus leaf decorations leading to cloven feet and baring a Prussian storage mark, the whole contained within split-opening walnut case with exposed hinges and catches, the model -- 6in. (16.5cm.); the case -- 8 x 6in. (22.1 x 16cm.)
