Lot Essay

Built in 1935, the Capitaine St. Martin was a collier owned by Union Industrielle et Maritime.

Iroise was a 1000 h.p. deep sea tug owned by the Union Francaise Maritime and based in Brest. Captained by Louis Malbert, hero of Roger Vercel's well know book Remorques, she carried out hundreds of sorties and salvaged dozens of ships, under the most appalling sea conditions.
