Lot Essay

Giovanni Montellatici ( - ) was the founder of 'Arte del Mosaico' later called Società Civile-Arte del Mosaico in Florence, Italy. Montelatici executed several objects for Mrs. Post in 1927-1928 including a circular specimen marble center table (lot 38) and a large dining-table now in the collection of The Hillwood Museum, Washington, D.C.
