Lot Essay

Designed for "umbrellas and sticks", this "stand" was priced at $25. Very few vessels were so highly priced and even some lamps wtih shades were less expensive than this. Vases were routinely priced between $2 and $20.

Another example of this model is on view in the living room of Frank Lloyd Wright's Francis W. Little house in the American Wing of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.

The present lot is featured on the cover of the record album Barbra Streisand, A Collection: Greatest Hits...And More, 1989.
