The square case on foliate paw feet and with D-ended glazed movement viewing panels to the sides, the gilt dial with Roman chapter ring and intricately pierced and engraved silver hand, large calibrated alarm wheel in the centre engraved with tulips and sunflowers, rosette-engraved spandrels, the movement with ringed baluster pillars pinned at the front plate and secured with gilt nuts on the backplate, chain fusee for the going train with verge escapement and plain steel balance with floral pierced and engraved open-footed cock, pierced and chased calibrated countwheel strike on a bell in the base door, resting barrel for the alarm train, the backplate signed Martinus Hyllius Dresda, the inside of the movement cover engraved CHRISTIAN RAVLISCH CHURF SACHS AMBTMAN ZU LEISNICK 1665
