Each with arched bevelled divided plate etched with a two handled vase beneath a crown, issuing a later brass scroll arm, each stamped NM and branded Stock Hall Stempel 1780-17½in. (44.5cm.) high, 7½in. (19cm.) wide (2)

Lot Essay

The mirrors are stamped NM for Nils Meunier, a Swedish craftsman who worked in Stockholm in the last quarter of the 18th century. An identiical mirror by Meunier, possibly part of the original set as the offered lot, is illustrated in S. Wallin, Nordiska Museets Möbler Fran Svenska Herremanshem, 1935, Vol. II, pl. 760.
