The case with roundel panel to the plinth beneath the rectangular break-arch trunk door flanked by stop-chamfered reeded angles, the hood with -columns supporting the Ogee caddy top with trellis-carved sound frets, the brass dial signed Henry Miles, Chippenham on the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with pierced blued steel hands, the centre engraved with foliage and a central basket of flowers above the calendar aperture, large subsidiary seconds ring, female mask-and-foliate spandrels, the arch with a rolling moonphase, the four pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack strike on a bell
