A Victorian Mahogany observatory-type wall regulator with gravity escapement
Dent, london No. 1437; circa 1850
The circular silvered regulator dial with fine blued steel hands signed Dent, London. 61 Strand & 34 Royal Exchange, Clock Maker to the Queen. No. 1437, the four pillar movement having wheels with six crossings and Harrison's maintaining power, the three leg gravity escapement positioned beneath concave arched plates, the zinc and steel gridiron pendulum with large calibrated bob suspended from an iron backboard terminating with a silvered beat scale, original brass-cased weight with integral pully, the mahogany casing with Dent's brass winding hole shutter set into the glass, glazed sides and unusual long arched lenticle in the trunk
