A Charles II ebony bracket timepiece with pull quarter repeat

The case with foliate ormolu mounts to the cushion-moulded top with foliate-tied handle, foliate cast gilt-metal mounts to the door numbered 77 on the cill, later bun feet, the 5in. gilt dial signed Tho Tompion Londini Fecit beneath the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with typical sword-hilt half-hour marker, pierced blued steel hands, winged cherub spandrels, latches to the dial feet and to the six ringed pillars, single gut fusee, verge escapement, the pendulum with calibrated bob, pull quarter repeat on two bells on Tompion's system from either side of the case via two arms linked to a pivoted steel arm, the line-scored backplate with cut-off top corners profusely engraved with tulips within foliage, numbered 77 at the base and signed Tho: Tompion Londini Fecit within a rectangular reserve; the movement secured to the case with two bolts into the bottom pillars
