A RESTAURATION ORMOLU AND PATINATED BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK
SECOND QUARTER 19TH CENTURY
Cast with the figure of Hercules in his lion's pelt seated upon a boulder enclosing a brass dial with roman chapters and blued moon hands, the twin barrel movement having anchor escapement with silk suspension, countwheel strike on a bell (now missing), on rockwork and rectangular base cast with a musical trophy within a vine leaf wreath flanked by scrolling anthemion on leaf-tip-cast plinth and similarly cast block feet-17in. (43.3cm.) high, 13in. (33cm.) wide, 4½in. (11.5cm.) deep
