This fanciful coat rack was designed for mass production and employed the same manufacturing techniques as that of the Eameses low table bases and wire chair. It was distributed by Tigrett Enterprises' Playhouse Division and production ceased when the firm closed its doors in 1961. cf. John Neuhart, Marilyn Neuhart, Ray Eames, Eames Design: The Work of the Office of Charles and Ray Eames, 1989, p. 184.
